Coming into college, or even coming back to college after a long break can be challenging.  Trying to balance school work, social life, and mental and physical health at the same time can sometimes feel like a burden.  This blog post is going to focus on ways to work out and create a routine in a virtual world.  We decided to share some of our favorite online, subscription, and free, fitness platforms perfect for a college student that you can do on your time. We hope this helps you find what movement works best for your body:)

The first platform is called Our Body Electric (obé):

This platform I (Lexie, Public Relations, and Social Manager) have been using for three years now and I could not say enough good things about it.  They have live classes where the instructors can see your name and give you a special shoutout in class, as well as over 4,500 on-demand classes for you whenever you can fit it in your schedule.  Their classes range from 5 to 60 minutes with the most popular length being their 28-minute classes. Perfect for your dorm room, apartment, or house.  Also, if you use code MADELAINE100 your first month is free!!

The second platform is VARIIS by Equinox:

This platform is currently only open to members of the Equinox gym or owners of the Soul Cycle bike, however, they will be rolling out a monthly plan in the near future.  They have group fitness classes that you would see in any Equinox gym, Soul Cycle classes, Headspace meditation, and Precision Run treadmill and outdoor run workouts.

The third platform is the Peloton app:

Peloton has a plethora of different classes available for only $14 a month.  They are offering 30 days free as well so you can get a feel for what it is like.  With classes varying from spinning to outdoor runs to yoga, you're sure to find what fits your body best.

Some free options would be:

Instagram TV: Tons of fitness instructors ran IG Lives throughout quarantine that are all saved to their IGTV, this is a great free resource. Some of my favorite accounts include: @aubrewinters @sydmiller @lindseyharrod @torrsim @variis @bandier @sweatsandthecity @carbon38

YouTube: there are a ton of great free workouts on YouTube.  Be sure to check out PopSugar fitness, they have a huge variety of workouts.

We hope this blog post helped, let us know if you try any or have any questions!!

Have the healthiest and happiest school year:)
